Scenario
Men and women live in a giant silo underground with various regulations they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic, crumbling world above. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what sci-fi is all about. The fans on the ground in several episodes spin in the wrong direction, relative to the orientation of the blades.
Spinning this way doesn’t push or pull air
Featured on WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 You Should Binge-Watch (2023). The Wool trilogy books are among the best books I’ve ever read. I was very hesitant to watch Silo because I got such a vivid inside look at this post-apocalyptic world from the books, and I didn’t want to ruin it.
That being said, I’m halfway through the first season and it’s nothing like the books in the best way
What I mean is that the framework is there, the events and the basics of what made the books great. However, most of the detailed story is completely new and embellished and fills in the gaps of things that were hinted at or glossed over in the books. What I’m glad about is that I’ve still kept a distinct version of the books in my head, and the show as a fun, new version.
A lot of it was how I imagined it
I have to say that they did a PHENOMENAL job with the casting and the settings. But the differences set the book apart and I like that. This is probably the first time that I’m happy that the show isn’t like the books, but I still really enjoy the show. Well done!
